Tierney Gearon is best known for her highly acclaimed and publicized work I am a Camera, shown at the Saatchi gallery in 2001, followed by an early summer show at The Gagosian Gallery in New York. In 2006, her second major body of work, The Mother Project became the subject of a documentary film. A book of the exhibition, Daddy, where are you? was published later that year. Gearon's newest work is titled EXPLOSURE.

In addition to this opening reception, Tierney Gearon will be holding a lecture at The High Museum on Thursday, October 29th at 7 PM in the Hill Auditorium. The subject of her lecture will encompass the span of her career as a photographer.

Jackson Fine Art will be debuting Atlanta-based artist, Todd Murphy’s new large-scale photographs from his series titled Sovereign Tree. Mostly known for his paintings, in this series Murphy is using photography and digital technology to seamlessly piece together elements of nature to create colorful vignettes of our natural environment.

Exhibited, collected, and published extensively around the world, Phil Bekker is widely recognized for his Polaroid work. This body of work has included transfer triptychs and heavily reworked 20" x 24" Polacolor transfers. The large cameras used to produce these pieces have been decommissioned and the photographic material is no longer in production.
Bekker was born in Rhodesia, Zimbabwe, and studied photography in South Africa and England. Later, Bekker moved to the United States where he received his MFA.
