Exhibited, collected, and published extensively around the world, Phil Bekker is widely recognized for his Polaroid work. This body of work has included transfer triptychs and heavily reworked 20" x 24" Polacolor transfers. The large cameras used to produce these pieces have been decommissioned and the photographic material is no longer in production.
Bekker was born in Rhodesia, Zimbabwe, and studied photography in South Africa and England. Later, Bekker moved to the United States where he received his MFA.
