Wynn Bullock: Revelations
High Museum of Art
Featuring work by: Wynn Bullock

Exhibition: Sat, Jun 14, to Sun, Jan 18 2015

Wynn Bullock: Revelations offers an unprecedented look at one of the mid-twentieth-century's most significant photographers. The show traces Bullock’s innovative career, from his early experimental work of the 1940s, through the mysterious black-and-white imagery of the 1950s and color light abstractions of the 1960s, to his late metaphysical photographs of the 1970s. Working in the American modernist tradition alongside Edward Weston, Harry Callahan, and Ansel Adams, Bullock garnered enormous acclaim during his lifetime, but the breadth of his career has remained largely in the shadows until now. The High is the first major museum in 40 years to mount a retrospective of his work.

Artists Talk: Fri, Oct 10, 7pm

Wynn Bullock Family Conversation

Photographer Wynn Bullock’s daughters, Barbara Bullock-Wilson and Lynne Harrington-Bullock, engage in a conversation about their father’s rich legacy. Moderated by the High’s Keough Family Curator of Photography and Head of Collections, Brett Abbott, the discussion will weave together intimate family memories with insightful stories behind the works currently on view in the High’s exhibition Wynn Bullock: Revelations.
