P. Seth Thompson: This Message Has No Content

Picking up where his previous exhibition The Last One left off, Atlanta-based artist P. Seth Thompson continues his investigation into the nature of our reality. In his new body of work titled This Message Has No Content, Thompson will explore the illusion of real time versus cinematic time, along with the philosophical problem of the paradox of fiction. This is Thompson’s fifth solo exhibition, and the first exhibition with Sandler Hudson Gallery.

AAC Photography Salon Celebration Show
Artists Atelier of Atlanta

Exhibition: Wed, Oct 1, to Fri, Oct 31 2014

The Artists Atelier of Atlanta has extended a special invitation to the Atlanta Artists Center Photography Salon, to honor the artistic talents of this award-winning group of amateur and professional photographers. The group continues to develop their technical skills while challenging and nurturing their creativity, utilizing traditional and experimental photographic methods.

This show is dedicated to the long-standing volunteer work of Ruth Gogel, who is a member of Artists Atelier of Atlanta and one of the early proponents of starting the Photography Salon at the Atlanta Artists Center. She is also an accomplished, award-winning photographer.

The Artists Atelier of Atlanta is a working artists' studio and gallery where local Georgia painters, sculptors, photographers and any other visual artists come to create, display and sell their works of art to emerging and advanced collectors. The Atelier was started by well-known Atlanta artist, Ouida Canaday in 1985 and was the first artist co-op in Atlanta.

Paris On Ponce
Featuring work by: Julian Dillard

Exhibition: Wed, Oct 1, to Sun, Nov 30 2014

This a collection of city and landscapes. The work, unlike most landscapes, is more simple and graphic, focusing more and shape and shades. I have now started using my photographs to produce some innovative art pieces. By manipulating the print during the mounting process I create texture and pattern, adding a relief quality. I call this process “scaping.”
Large scale work is often broken up into several pieces. Some as large as 7' X 10'.
I often incorporate collectible and found objects when I display the work. Making Paris On Ponce the perfect place for this show.
In some pieces the prints are enhanced and exaggerated with acrylic paint.
Created on canvas each piece is an original, titled, signed and dated. Photographic prints also available.

Cemetery Visits

Jennifer Graham of White Rabbit Creative Photography has a passion for documenting cemeteries. Head stones, statues, monuments, iron work, stories and most anything you’d find in graveyard exploration. The exhibit features traditional stones and statuary mixed with urban growth surrounding the dead. See the world as it was, is and how it’s changed in a few years or centuries.
