We all have experienced loss in our lives: the death of someone important in our lives or even the rupture of a meaningful relationship; the kind of loss that shakes us to the core and challenges the way we perceive ourselves and interact with the world.
When we are challenged by loss, we go through an emotional state in which everything we know stops making sense. Then, slowly and painfully, we start to understand that we will never be the same again.
ETHEREALITY is a surreal visual metaphor for the emotional space that envelops us when we experience such loss.

Flux Night is a one-night public art celebration presented by Flux Projects in the streets and empty spaces of the Castleberry Hill Arts District. This free, family friendly event is unlike any other experience in Atlanta. From 7:00 p.m. until midnight, 20 public art projects fill the neighborhood with projections, dance, performance, music, sound and light installations, and more.
Random encounters, chance discoveries, and sensory overload are the hallmarks of Flux Night, now in its fourth year. The 2013 theme, Free Association, builds on this spirit of unexpected juxtapositions and patterns of call-and-response. Free Association explores the ways in which images, information, and identities proliferate and mutate, online and off. It also looks beyond the visual, to senses and experiences that catch us unaware.
International curator Helena Reckitt selected 6 projects, and an additional 14 projects were chosen from an open call for proposals.
A complete list of artists, projects, and sponsors, as well as directions on parking, riding MARTA, and cycling to the event, can be found at the Flux Projects website at www.fluxprojects.org.
