In Jack Spencer's first body of work, Native Soil, he traveled across the southern U.S. Since then he has traveled the country and into Mexico, always allowing life to lead him to his next series. Working in St. Augustine, Florida, a pastel palette makes his new photographs feel similar to watercolor paintings. Jack Spencer was born in Mississippi and currently resides in Nashville, Tennessee. His work is in many collections including: The Houston Museum of Fine Art, Berkley Museum of Art, and Sir Elton John’s Photography Collection and he is represented by leading contemporary photography galleries throughout the United States. John Baeder: Paintings and Photographs
Mason Murer Fine Art
Featuring work by: John Baeder

Exhibition: Fri, Sep 6, to Sat, Nov 2 2013

John Baeder was born in 1938 in America's heartland, but grew up in Atlanta. Frequent family trips around the country solidified his love of Americana and all the places "in between," and Baeder began, as a child, to capture images of America. He is probably best known for his images and paintings of roadside diners, but that is only a small portion of Baeder's work. His photographic range is much more all-encompassing from seemingly mundane images of American back roads in the 1950s, to his new still life series that function as snapshots of Americana.

Mason Murer Fine Art is proud to display several series of John Baeder's work including images of Atlanta in the 1960s, his sign series, his iconic images and paintings of American Diners, and his newest works, still lifes of Americana.
