Ten queens flaunt, strut, and twerk their way through this photographic typology of the Atlanta Drag Scene. Legendary Children displays the rising acceptance of queer identity, art, and performance in the contemporary South. This photo show celebrates the individuals dedicated to building an edgy, creative, and accepting community for drag performers.

Closing Reception & Drag Show

The closing reception features live performances by: Brigitte Bidet, Cayenne Rouge, Edie Cheezburger, Ellisorous Rex, Evah Destruction, Jaye Lish, Kryean Kally, Lavonia Elberton, Mo'Dest Volgare, and Violet Chachki. Reception starts at 7pm with a drag show at 9pm!

APG offers Purchase Awards in conjunction with MOCA-GA and the High Museum of Art. Members also benefit from discounted rates with local and online photo-related businesses. All members have the opportunity to exhibit work in the APG Gallery.

Exhibition: Sat, Sep 28, 10am - 1pm

This is an opportunity for photographers of all ages and with all levels of experience to exhibit their work and to compete for prizes. You are invited to hang your best photo (the best you’ve ever taken or the best you’ve taken this week)! The general public, Elementary Schools, Middle Schools, High Schools and Senior Centers are encouraged to participate.

Prizes will be awarded in nine categories, judged by the staff of Creative Loafing
Critic’s Choice
Viewer’s Choice
Best Use of Color
Best Use of Black and White
Best High School
Youth under 12 (1st, 2nd and 3rd place)
Teen 13 -18 (1st, 2nd and 3rd place)
Adult (1st, 2nd and 3rd place)
Senior (1st, 2nd and 3rd place)

Photographs must be hung on Saturday, September 28th, between 10am and 1pm, and must be picked up on Saturday October 26th between 10am and 1pm. Please bring photographs 11 x 14 or smaller. Framed photographs are not allowed.

On Saturday, September 28th, the #weloveatl truck will also be in attendance from 9am-1pm.

This event is free and open to the public.

Sponsored by the Piedmont Park Conservancy, The Showcase School, the City of Atlanta Department of Parks and Recreation, Creative Loafing and KPMG.

Saturday, October 5th - open to the public (for viewing) from 10am – 1pm
Saturday, October 12th – CLOSED
Saturday, October 19th - open to the public (for viewing) from 10am – 1pm
Saturday, October 26th – photographs are removed this day 10am – 1pm
