Panel Discussion: Sat, Sep 21, 12:30pm - 2pm

Rizvana Bradley, Assistant Professor of Women’s Gender and Sexuality Studies at Emory University, will moderate a conversation between Steffani Jemison and Rujeko Hockley, Assistant Curator of Contemporary Art at the Brooklyn Museum, about Jemison’s rigorous meditations on the nature of photography and photo-based work, including experimental video, and how Jemison confronts assumptions about these mediums, their form and materiality, through her engagement with Black history and aesthetics.

Le Corbusier... Modernist Pioneer

Exhibition: Sat, Sep 21, to Sat, Oct 26 2013

Photographs by master photographer Richard Pare from his Le Corbusier portfolio commissioned as part of the current MoMA New York exhibition: Le Corbusier: An Atlas of Modern Landscapes. The images have also been included in 2012/13 exhibitions in Moscow and Stockholm.

This body of work complements the 2007 MoMA solo exhibition of Pare's photographs of Soviet Modernist Architecture, The Lost Vanguard. It received wide acclaim, including major museum exhibitions in Madrid, Barcelona, Berlin, Moscow and London.

Pare, was the founding photography curator at the Canadian Centre for Architecture. He is the author of a number of books on the subject, including, Court House: A Photographic Document and Photography and Architecture: 1839-1939.

Lumière is the first gallery globally to show this new body of work and will host an artist reception for Pare on Saturday September 21st.

Chattahoochee Nature Center

Artists Reception: Sun, Oct 13, 5:30pm - 8pm

The Georgia Nature Photographers Association (GNPA), in partnership with the Chattahoochee Nature Center (CNC,) is pleased to present a juried exhibition of exceptional wildlife, landscape and macro images. These images represent a sample of the best work from among the more than 250 members of the GNPA. The CNC, located adjacent to the Chattahoochee River with gardens, trails, and wildlife displays, will host the exhibition and reception.
The GNPA is dedicated to helping nature photographers of all skill levels improve their photography, learn and grow, meet other outdoor photographers, participate in great trips and events, help others understand the value of the natural world, and give focus to a special area of interest in photography.
Every third Thursday of the month the GNPA holds its monthly meeting at the Mansour Center located in Marietta.
