The piece de resistance of the silent auction is the section called "Ones to Watch" - work by up-and-coming photography superstars from all over the country.

At 7:30pm the dramatic live auction featuring Denise Bethel of Sotheby's will begin, while we dine on delicious food provided by Fifth Group Restaurants: South City Kitchen; el Taco, La Tavola, and The Bakeshop.

The ACP auction features a dazzling array of photographers. Many internationally-known photographers and galleries have donated work to benefit acp. Atlanta's premier fine art framer Myott Studio has donated the framing for this event.

Laurel Nakadate: Photographs, Videos & Performances
Atlanta Contemporary Art Center
Featuring work by: Laurel Nakadate

Exhibition: Fri, Oct 12, to Sun, Dec 16 2012

Laurel Nakadate is an internationally acclaimed artist, whose works are emotional and unsettling. The titles of her photographs, videos, and films — Fever Dreams at the Crystal Motel, Stay the Same Never Change, and 365 Days: A Catalogue of Tears — give you an idea of the human drama that she and sought-after or happened-upon collaborators can create. This exhibition brings together some of the artist’s most talked about works, including those named above and others, which explore the power and vulnerability of young women and the awkward intensity of middle-aged men. Nakadate figures prominently in these productions, in the roles of charmer and predator, actress and director. Her work offers new narratives in the realms of love, loss, and the American landscape.

He will discuss the texts commissioned from experts, writers, inventors, and public figures, including Hugh Hefner, John Baldessari, John Waters, Robert Adams, and many others. Photography Changes Everything provides a unique opportunity to better understand the history, practice, and power of photography at this transitional moment in visual culture.
