"Ghost Print" Series
BEE
Featuring work by: Maggie Hasbrouck

Exhibition: Tue, Sep 18, to Sat, Oct 13 2012

Photographer Maggie Hasbrouck returns to BEE with her highly celebrated “Ghost Prints." Light and ethereal, these limited edition prints, based on some of her most beloved paintings, exclusively available through BEE. The museum-quality giclee prints are signed and numbered by Hasbrouck and archivally produced on ultra-smooth, acid free, 100 percent cotton-rag paper with numerous framing options available. A working artist for over 20 years, Maggie Hasbrouck’s dreamlike paintings and photographs are recognized for her signature meditative style and the medium she helped bring to the forefront of the contemporary American Art scene; “Photoencaustic” is a technique she developed and perfected over the last 18 years that employs both her photographic productions and the centuries old practice of painting with hot beeswax. She mixes resins and pigment into beeswax that are painted over a photographic print, then finishes with a fusion of oils, pigment glazes and varnishes that make each painting seem to glow from the inside out. A native of Pitman, New Jersey, Hasbrouck currently calls Atlanta, Ga., home. She holds a Master of Fine Arts degree in art from the University of Illinois at Champaign and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque.
