Unrehearsed Perfection - An Exhibit of Portraits, Given
Pace Academy
Featuring work by: Gary Gruby

Exhibition: Fri, Oct 1, to Fri, Oct 29 2010

This exhibition of photographs by Gary Gruby touches those perfect moments when a person "gives" a portrait to an artist in an unrehearsed, unplanned and unscripted way. Gary Gruby's photographs in this exhibit celebrate those moments. They are honest, open and surprising. These portraits have a geographical range that encompasses Gruby's expansive backyard, from the few students of the "Island School" on Cumberland Island, through families in Atlanta, and the documentation of three decades of residents in Senoia, Georgia - in an award winning series titled "Portrait of Senoia." Mr. Gruby photographed and donated over 44 archival black and white prints that are part of the Senoia Area Historical Society's permanent photography collection. Artists are put on this world to see particular things, share particular thoughts and reflect beauty in their art, and do so in a fun way. Come, take a journey and view the received gifts of "Unrehearsed Perfection" in Pace Academy's Fine Arts Center in October.

Kiang Gallery
Featuring work by: Zhang Dali, Chi Peng, Danielle Roney

Exhibition: Fri, Oct 8, to Thu, Dec 23 2010

CHI PENG, Beijing.
Between No Longer and Not Yet, a solo exhibition of five new large format staged color photographs, brilliantly capturing the essence of a state of mind or a mood, which may be hard to remember, constantly shifting between mood and memory; one never truly knows or understands what state of mind he or she is in. Was it temporary mood; or was it permanent memory or something in between?
