Night. Light. Reflections; Visions of the New South
The Gallery at Chastain Arts Center
Featuring work by: John E. Dowell, Jr.

Exhibition: Thu, Sep 30, to Fri, Nov 5 2010

John Dowell presents a contemporary portrait of Atlanta’s nocturnal urban landscapes, using medium format film. The exhibit features a selection from the 70-photograph series that contrasts the city’s gleaming modernism with its stately past, and blurs the distinction between interior and exterior. The photographs invite the viewer to question what is real: is it the glittering surfaces, or the reflections they present?
