AFTER: IMAGES FROM HAITI

ECIT Gallery | Level 2

Featuring work by: Bryan Meltz

Exhibition: Fri, Sep 10 to Fri, Sep 9 2011

Beginning in September 2010, the Robert W. Woodruff Library at Emory University will feature After: Images from Haiti a rotating exhibition of the latest work from Atlanta-based documentary photographer Bryan Meltz. This exhibition, on view throughout the academic year, will change every three months in order to provide an in-depth study of the ongoing humanitarian crisis in the aftermath of the January 12th earthquake. In March 2010 Bryan spent several weeks in Haiti covering the public health situation in the rural countryside of the Central Plateau and in May began collaborating with NGO’s GIANT Global and Humanity 4 Haitian Development on a 5-year project documenting the rebuilding of Grand Goave, near Port au Prince. The exhibition focuses on the growing nationwide public health crisis, the challenges of rural life in the Central Plateau, and takes a revealing look inside an orphanage in Port au Prince.

: Tue, Oct 5, 6pm - 7pm
