Artists Talk and Panel Discussion with Harry Shearer
Harry Shearer is one of America's most prominent satirists, and during a stint as a writer and cast member on Saturday Night Live in the 1980s, he discovered satellite news feeds. His The Silent Echo Chamber videos feature media and political personalities in the awkward moments before "going live," prompting dialogue about trust, privacy, celebrity, and technology.
Please join Harry in a discussion about his work. Also joining in the discussion are panelists Jim Clancy, Anchor/Correspondent, CNN International, and Michael David Murphy, Program Manager for Atlanta Celebrates Photography. The panel will be moderated by Stuart Horodner, Curator for the Atlanta Contemporary Art Center.
This event will coincide with an ongoing exhibition of Mr. Shearer's work at the Atlanta Contemporary Art Center and is collaboration between ACP, The Contemporary and the High Museum of Art.
This program is free, however seating is limited and must be reserved. Tickets are available through the Woodruff Arts Center Box Office at 404-733-5000 and online at www.high.org. Tickets to the Museum are sold separately.
